For his second CAMERA ARTISTS portfolio, Daniel Gordon’s deliberate use of black and white photographs and modest printing size serves as a direct homage to the photographic greats rooted in the foundation of the artist’s craft: Man Ray, Alfred Stieglitz and André Kertész among others. Calling this series “Intermissions” Gordon has created a selection of images delicately captured during certain “in-between” moments while working in his studio to produce his signature detailed color photographs.

The elevated poetry underlying each image in this edition served as an inspirational springboard to writer/artist Jibade-Khalil Huffman, whose elusive textual work can be found woven into the pages of Daniel Gordon’s accompanying artist book, found neatly tucked away beneath the photographs, all housed within the clamshell portfolio case.
