I was interested in the idea of tire tracks across a landscape. They are an imprint of memory and the trace of a journey.
Close up, the tire track is also a landscape in itself. And the image it leaves is a negative one, an indentation. The track is like an engraving in the land, and so it is a kind of writing. Over a great distance, that writing tells stories. Tire tracks are our ephemeral, modern footprint on the ancient land. P.C.
